This month I caught up with Citak Pty co-founder Charles Young
to chat about Recruitment, Salesforce.com and living in Melbourne. Charles is one of our earliest Salesforce.com clients, so we’re thrilled to be featuring him in the first of our case study in the Customer Spotlight
What’s your background and how did Citak Pty come about?
My background is predominately from working within Startups in the Digital / Online Industry, first one was back in 1996. Have seen the good and bad, success and failure of startup life and have always enjoyed the ride. Citak started about 8 years ago after my business partner and I thought there was an opportunity in the market for a ‘Modern ‘ Headhunting firm to specialize in Digital and Mobile Media and Technology as well as traditional areas like Telecommunications. Today we’re still helping Start-ups (and Traditional Businesses) achieve their growth goals through the placement of the best people in Australia and throughout Asia.
Why do you use Salesforce.com over the many industry specific recruitment CRMs?
We’re actually using Click to Cloud an Industry Specific tool or layer of logic built over the top of Salesforce. In our opinion we get the best of both worlds: an industry specific tool built on the world’s leading CRM platform
How did you come across Ebsta?
By accident really! I was forwarded an email from the Salesforce AppExchange
, my business partner asked what I thought of Ebsta, I’d never heard of you but downloaded the app, had a play and now we are happy customers.
It’s early days, but how do you think Ebsta will benefit Citak Pty ?
Having been Headhunting for nearly 10 years now our database is jammed packed full of candidates details. Ebsta enables me to immediately be alerted if we have a match in our database, this is great as my memory isn’t as good as it used to be! Being able to immediately contact a prospect that I didn’t know or had forgotten was in my database will inevitably result in closing assignments faster, a no brainer for anyone in our industry. The speed of being able to update our database and create tasks is also a real advantage.
You live in Melbourne – are you in to wine, surfing or something else?
Melbourne is a fantastic city to live in, highly cosmopolitan with many things of appeal to almost anybody, expect perhaps surfers. I personally love the food and wine, fantastic and authentic restaurants covering almost any cuisine. Melbourne also boasts a fantastic nightlife, not that I really get to see it these days after having 2 kids. Often mentioned to be the ‘Sporting Capital of the World’ Melbourne can provide the sports fan with more option than they would know what to do with. My favorite team is the Melbourne Rebels Rugby Union team but I imagine most people from your part of the world would appreciate the recent soccer, sorry football match between Liverpool and Melbourne Victory when 95,000 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground gave a rousing reception of ‘You will never walk alone’ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iLL57puZPM
singing starts at 4.20), a fine example of what sports fans can expect from Melbourne.
